Young People Explore Music Production Through Ellesmere Port Collective Studio

Ellesmere Port Collective CIC recently supported in delivering a new audio music production course designed to give young people hands-on experience in audio recording and studio production, using the organisation’s community studio space as a creative hub for learning and collaboration.

The programme was supported through the use of the Studio facility, helping provide accessible music opportunities for young people in Ellesmere Port. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of digital music production, including recording techniques, arrangement, sampling, mixing and creative workflow development.

Throughout the course, young people had access to professional studio equipment and were encouraged to experiment creatively in a supportive and inclusive environment. Sessions focused not only on technical skills, but also on confidence building, teamwork and self-expression through music.

The project forms part of Ellesmere Port Collective’s wider commitment to youth music provision and creating accessible creative opportunities within the town. The organisation has continued to develop its community studio and outreach programmes to support collaboration, workshops and youth engagement through arts and music activity.

Several attendees created their own original tracks during the programme, with many using the sessions as their first introduction to studio production and electronic music. The course also provided insight into wider creative industries and pathways within music and media.

Ellesmere Port Collective hopes to continue expanding its youth-focused creative programmes in the future, providing more opportunities for emerging young artists and producers to access high-quality facilities and develop new skills within their local community.
